Gianni Infantino emerges new president of Fifa

The much anticipated FIFA general elections which was held in zurich today has produced Gianni Infantino as winner of the election.
Infantino who now takes over from the disgraced Blatter who is currently been ban from all football related activities by Fifa would have his term expired in 2019.
Infantino who was until now UEFA secretary general got a total of 115 votes in the second round of the election which is fairly above the required 104 needed majority from its 204 member country.
Gianni infantino who holds both a swiss and Italian nationality becomes the 9th elected president of Fifa which has been occupied by sepp blatter since 1998.
The other favourite, Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa of Bahrain, had 88 votes. Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein of Jordan had four and Frenchman Jerome Champagne none.
According to an ecstatic infantino, after been announced as the winner, the swiss administrator had this to say.
"We will restore the image of FIFA ... We have to be proud of FIFA. We have to be proud altogether.
"I want to be the president of all of you ... It is time to return to football. FIFA has gone through hard times, crisis times. These times are over ... We have to win back the respect, and focus on this wonderful game that is football."
Ex- president of Uefa Michel Platini was formerly pencilled down for the position as head of Fifa but fate hadn't been too nice with him as he was later tied together with blatter as culpable hands linked with fraud.
