Woman caught with half-pound cocaine
Border patrol agents at the JFK international airport have successfully nabbed a woman reported to be carrying half pound of cocaine as she tries to sneak the stuff into New York.
Shekira Thompson a US citizen arrived the JFK international airport on a flight from Jamaica. The custom agent who immediately took the US citizen to a secondary screening room found some white powdery substance which was stuffed in her vagina.
Shekira though, a US citizen was born in Jamaica. She was however pulled aside by 1pm sunday by cops to to private search room where she admitted hiding the stuff in sensitive area of her body.
Similarly, the Director of US customs and border protection operation New York Mr Robert Perez has applauded the process saying it's shows how the GBP officers are protecting the united states from allowing this kind of illicit drug to be found in the streets which according to him cost about $10,000.
In the united states, a survey in 2006 on drugs usage shows that 35.5 Americans age of 12 and above use cocaine while 8.6 million Americans age 12 and above used crack.
Data from 2008 drug abuse warning network (DAWN) reported that cocaine was involved in a whopping 482, 188 of the nearly 2million visits to the emergency departments for drug misuse or abuse. This means that over 25% emergency room visit was due to cocaine.
