Trump vows to shut Trump foundation

President-elect Donald Trump have made up his plans of relinquishing his charity foundation which he once funded on a self basis some long ago. Mr. Trump whose foundation operation has continued to raise eyebrows most especially among the top goons in Washington have in recent past argues on the financial correctness in the running of his charitable organization.

Trump whose foundation took the center stage for all the wrong reasons during the presidential election race made several frantic efforts in trying to debase the inaccuracies of certain information making the rounds about the foundation during the campaign most especially in his quest to clearly outwit the rumors flogging through the camp of the opposition's window.

Trump reportedly used $258,000 of the foundation’s money to pay for personal legal settlements. He also spent charitable funds on multiple portraits of himself and on a football helmet autographed by Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow. The foundation also made a donation to a political group supporting Florida attorney general Pam Bondi, a longtime Trump backer in violation of tax law. The president-elect has since paid $2,500 to the Internal Revenue Service over the donation.

The Republican billionaire in a statement decided to absolve self from any doubts linking his official functions as Mr. President and that of any suppose gains which had been tagged in certain quarters as been that of a "conflict of interest".

According to Mr.Trump statement which he made Saturday, there have to been some other ways to pursue his affinity for philanthropy. "The foundation has done enormous good works over the years in contributing millions of dollars to countless worthy groups, including supporting veterans, law enforcement officers and children.

"However, to avoid even the appearance of any conflict with my role as president I have decided to continue to pursue my strong interest in philanthropy in other ways."

Similarly, in a related story, New York Attorney General have opined that Mr. Trump really cannot decide to absolve the charity organization when the foundation is still undergoing certain charges of suspected financial impropriety which had been labelled against the foundation for some time running now.According to General Eric Schneiderman in September, his office wanted to ensure the Foundation was "complying with the laws that govern charities in New York".

US media say Mr Schneiderman's office has been investigating the Trump Foundation since at least June, when it formally questioned a donation made to a group backing Republican Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi in 2013.
