Buhari Presidential Broadcast

President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari in his first media broadcast ever since embarking on a medical sabbatical in the United Kingdom, thanked Nigerians for their steadfastness and continued faith in his healing process. The president who looked greatly fit enough to resume his legitimate functions couldn't better express his joy to be back home as he noted thus;" I am very grateful to God and to all Nigerians for their prayers. I am pleased to be back on home soil among my brothers and sisters".

President Buhari whose absence from the country span over a hundred days, returned Saturday August 19, 2017, shortly after receiving one of Nigerian notable clergy whose visit made the last guest roll of visitors who had previously visited the president at the Abuja home in London.

Despite the controversies and propaganda theory that hobnob through his continued absence from the country, the coast became clear enough as the Nigeria eagle One touched down the tarmac of the presidential wing at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport at about 06:00 GMT.

"Nigeria's unity is settled and not negotiable. We shall not allow irresponsible elements to start trouble, and when things get bad, they run away and saddle others with the responsibility of bringing back order, if necessary with their blood."

In a presidential broadcast that lasted just five minutes the presidential who stayed direct and straight to the point, touched on few key point as it affect the Nations unity, security re-invigoration, need for peace, fundamental rights of citizens to live anywhere in the country, social media dilemma, and few other details.

According to the president, no Nigerian should be bullied out of their comfort zone so long they legitimately obeying the law. They have a right to live anywhere in the land.  "Every Nigerian has the right to live and pursue his business anywhere in Nigeria without let or hindrance".

On security concern and the need to end the spate of Terrorism,Kidnappings, Criminality, Farmer versus Herdsmen crisis, the president charged the various security network not to rest in the oars while stating the resolve to re-invigorate the process.

"Terrorists and criminals must be fought and destroyed relentlessly so that the majority of us can live in peace and safety. Furthermore, I am charging the Security Agencies not to let the successes achieved in the last 18 months be a sign to relax. Therefore we are going to reinforce and reinvigorate the fight not only against; elements of Boko Haram which are attempting a new series of attacks on soft targets;kidnappings; farmers versus herdsmen clashes; in addition to ethnic violence fueled by political mischief makers. We shall tackle them all".

However, for the many naysayers and architect of adulterated and fake news propeller through the social media cyber space, the president had this to say " In the course of my stay in the United Kingdom, I have been kept in daily touch with events at home. Nigerians are robust and lively in discussing their affairs, but I was distressed to notice that some of the comments, especially on social media, have crossed our national red lines by daring to question our collective existence as a nation. This is a step too far".

Lastly, the speech touched briskly on certain salient factor such as the economy, yet with little marble words inscribed in wisdom. "Our collective interest now is to eschew petty differences and come together to face common challenges of economic security, political evolution and integration, as well as lasting peace among all Nigerians. I remain resolutely committed to ensuring that these goals are achieved and maintained. I am so glad to be home".

President Buhari left for London My 7th for an undisclosed medical attention.

Though, mixed reactions have continued to trail the president 5 minutes speech with divergent opinion of what is and what isn't.
