Appeal court sack Okezie Ikpeazeu of Abia, declares Alex Otti of APGA winner of the April Governorship poll

Breaking News: An Appelate court has ordered the immediate swearing in of Mr Alex Otti of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) as the duly elected governor of Abia state. The court in her ruling ordered the immediate vacation of the office of the Governor by the incumbent Okezie Ikpeazeu of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) It will be recalled that Mr Okezie was declared winner of the gubernatorial election as held in Abia state on the 14th of April 2015 Details coming soon

Ezekwesili expresses her displeasure over the prolong stay of the chibok girls in captivity

Former minister of education and covener of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign Mrs Oby Ezekwesili has expressed her dissatisfaction over the prolonged stay of the missing chibok schoolgirls in the hands of their captors. Mrs Ezekwesili who hinted that today makes it 626 days since those girls was whisked away from their school also noted that the lack of intelligence among the security team is near alarming as they seems not to have any clue pertaining the missing girls. Lawyer Confirms Dasuki’s Re-Arrest

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria and lawyer to the embattled former National Security Adviser, Mr Ahmed Raji, has confirmed the re-arrest of his client, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (Rtd) shortly after he was released on bail from Kuje prison . According to a recent telephone interview with a channel correspondent in Abuja, Mr Raji said that no obvious reason was given by the security agents for the re-arrest of Colonel Dasuki who was granted bail both by a Federal High Court and an Abuja high court. Colonel Sambo Dasuki is currently standing trial before different courts in Abuja over alleged criminal diversion of 2.1 billion dollars meant for the purchase of arms. The DSS took custody of  Dasuki shortly after perfecting the third bail granted him by Justice Peter Affem after two other courts had done same. Minister for information explains FG plans in fulfiling its promises

Minister for information and culture Mr Lai Mohammed has explained how the federal government of Nigeria intend to actualize it's current strategy of both providing employment for the teeming Nigerian youths and also meeting it's campaign promise of 5000 naira stipends to the vulnerable.  “Part of what we intend to do with the half a trillion naira is to train market women, artisans and unemployed graduates in the art of management and also give them loans to start their own businesses. Part of our social intervention also includes the transfer of N5,000 to the most vulnerable people. “And we are being partnered in this by the World Bank and other multilateral organisations. Guineans are expected to celebrate the landmark with concerts and fireworks. The disease killed more than 2,500 people in the West African state, and a further 9,000 in neighbouring Liberia and Sierra Leone. Liberia  was declared Ebola-free by the WHO in September, and  Sierra Leone  in November. However, Liberia has had new cases since the declaration. A country is considered free of human-to-human transmission once two 21-day incubation periods have passed since the last known case tested negative for a second time. Lagos—Mrs Beatrice Oyesunle, the 75-year-old mother of the twin brothers who were shot to death by a drunk Mobile Police Sergeant, weekend, alongside their friend, in Ketu area of Lagos, yesterday said the death of her only surviving children had crumbled her world. This is just as one of the children, Taiwo Oyesunle, was discovered to be a Naval personnel attached to the Nigerian Navy Ship Wey, Satelite. Taiwo, with his identical twin brother, Kehinde (34) and their friend, identified simply as Jeje were said to have gone to Paulson hotel, on Anibaba Street to book for a room for the latter’s girlfriend who would be returning to the country Saturday night.
