UTME exams starts today nationwide as over 1.5 million candidates jostle for 800,000 admission spot

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Jamb starts her exams today as candidates gets their different centres been effected by the exams board.

Candidates will have to jostle and hustle very hard if they must secure a place with the over 800, 000 admission slots available in our tertiary institutions.

According to Jamb, a total of 1,589, 175 candidates who applied for the unified tertiary matriculation exams will start their exams today in over 521 centres nationwide in a simultaneous fashion as this will also will also take place in about nine different foreign centres viz; cotonou in Benin republic, Beau in the republic of cameroon, Accra in Ghana, Johannesburg in South Afica, Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, Abidjan in ivory Coast and London in the united kingdom which is expected to last for two weeks.

Similar the board revealed statistics shows a declining rate of students registration since 2013 where about 1.7 million candidates entered for the exams. In 2014 it shows a figure of 1.6 million candidates while in 2015, it declines to 1.4 million candidates.

According the board, the computer based test CBT has proved to fast becoming one of the best and surest ways to writing the exams in recent times based on the requirements of the 21st century.

Jamb sends the graphical analysis of test scores of every candidates to their mobile phones within 30minutes after the examination while a complete released of specific scores will be out in another 3-4 days
