Osun is in a perfect cordial relationship with workers- State NLC chairman affirms

Contrary to claims and speculation,  the Osun state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC through her chairman Mr Jacob Adekomi has reiterated that the state government is living up to her expectations when it comes to payment of workers salaries. The NLC chairman who noted that the state had religiously followed the agreement meant between both parties stressed that the relationship between the state government and that of the civil service remains cordial.

Speaking at the state capital in Osogbo, the state NLC chairman who noted that the workers had received their payment up till January 2016 as this was in line with the FG disbursed allocation also stressed that the state NLC rigorously followed the 2015 state bailout fund by the federal government in seeing that the money was used judiciously to pay salaries of workers owed from January to June 2015.

Mr Adekomi who also hinted that as part of the agreement reached between the state NLC and the Osun government, though prior to the bail out, the salaries of retirees was not included in the scheme of arrangement, but at the committee level, the state NLC had to laise with government officials to seeing that retirees were incorporated into the bail out fund payment.

Mr Adekomi said that it was generally consensus that workers between the level 1-7 received full payment while from 8 above gets half of their payment with a clause of getting the other half when the economy gets back to her feats.

The state NLC chairman noted that there is relative peace at the civil service level as all workers have received their payment up to January
2016 while they awaits the February allocation as per FG disbursed fund.

Both retirees have received their pension as the state government seems to be on the right track to continuing this set morality of swift payment.
