Shearer: I want England job

Shearer is evidently livid with England’s performance tonight.
The former England striker has torn into Hodgson’s tactical decisions and selections.
He also confirmed he wants the England job but that The FA have told him that he does not have enough experience.

Shearer: Pick players on form

Shearer has said Hodgson should have picked his players on form and in their best positions.
He said: “Daniel Sturridge is not a right-sided midfielder or a winger. He’s a striker.
“You have to pick players who are on form.
It cannot be right to play the first game, then the second, the third and the fourth and you’re still scrambling around trying to decide your team and formation.”

Shearer continues to rant

Shearer has criticized the role of Hodgson’s assistant, Garry Neville.
“What is Gary Neville doing? He was one of England’s best defenders” said Shearer.
“Why on earth is Rooney deep? You have to look at the coaching staff as well.”

Ferdinand and Jenas react

Rio Ferdinand and Jermaine Jenas have joined Shearer is digging out England for a dreadful display.
“If you don’t know your best team or your best formation, you’re running into trouble,” said Ferdinand.
“We had no real idea of where to run. There was no inventiveness.“I was excited before the tournament.Maybe I was led up a garden path by this team.”

Jermaine Jenas added: “I don’t think Roy knew what he was doing. His loyalty towards his players has cost him his job.It is a horrible way to go out of a tournament.”
