Haiti in ruins as death toll reaches 900

Following the devastating effect of Hurricane Matthew in one of the world most poorest Caribbean Islands, there have been series of calls from various international communities seeking for humanitarian aids and supports in an attempts to assisting Hurricane torn Haiti whose devastation has seen hundreds of deaths in the past four days.      
Crossing the river is a dangerous task which many have undertaken since the bridge collapse.

At least 877 people were confirmed dead late on Friday, local officials told Reuters news agency.
One of the survivors in the village of Chantal told Reuters a tree had flattened his house.
"The entire house fell on us. I couldn't get out," Jean-Pierre Jean-Donald said.
"People came to lift the rubble, and then we saw my wife, who had died."

According to the United Nations, the disaster has affected 350,000 people and left Haitians facing its worst humanitarian crisis since the devastating earthquake six years ago. The devastation which has caused so much tension and hardship in Haiti has been confirmed to shattered majority of her infrastructure given the negative effect of this devastation.

The Mesa Verde carries 300 Marines soldiers specialized in medical emergency assistance and reconstruction and has three heavy transport helicopter CH-53 Super Stallion and landing craft.

Similarly, in a swift response to the Haitian situation, the UK has offered to provide more humanitarian aid as the days come by. According to her international development Secretary, the UK has pledged to assist with temporary shelters, equipment to purify and carry safe drinking water and solar lights to reach 12,500 of the most vulnerable people, including women and children, will arrive in Haiti over the coming few days. 

In a report by the Haitian Libre News, the UK is committing up to 5 million Pound Sterling (over $6 million) of initial support to help thousands of people in Haiti affected by Hurricane Matthew, announced Friday, Priti Patel, International Development Secretary.  The funding includes a first consignment of UK aid arriving in Haiti today including shelter kits for 5,000 people and a further four British experts to help assess and address the needs of those affected by the storm.
