Obafemi Martins recall, Oliseh Succumbs to Pressure-Abdulahi
Following the recent call up and shocking return of Obafemi Martins back to the National team, reactions have continued to trail this decision by Coach Sunday Oliseh. While some feels that it is a recognition of the strikers self exploit in his Major League Soccer 'Seattle Sounders Club', others are of the opinion that the decision is ill willed.
Similarly, in a recent development, a former international Heyman Abdulahi has describe the decision of Martins return as a sign of Sunday Oliseh trying to win back his critics who in recent times have placed him under their surgical table.
Speaking with Saturday Daily Trust, the former Grasshopper FC of Zurich Player admitted that Coach Sunday Oliseh is beginning to succumb to pressure while showing early signs of desperation.
“I believe strongly that Oliseh is under pressure. Nigerians want results so he has decided to go for those players he believes can deliver.
“However, this is not in line with his earlier vow. With players like Obafemi Martins, how is he going to build a team for the future?.
“There are so many young Nigerians out there who have not been tested. I thought Oliseh would be patient and look for younger players. Now he has bowed to pressure and it will not augur well for the team,” he noted.
