Siasia, Amuneke becomes eagles interim handler

Following the surprising exit of sunday oliseh as head coach of the Nigeria National team, the Nigeria football federation NFF appointed Samson siasia alongside Emanuel Amuneke as  interim handlers of the team as they prepare for an all win important AFCON qualifier against the Pharaoh's of Egypt.

The combination became necessary according to the NFF following the resignation of coach sunday oliseh who at the wee hours of Friday resigned his position.

Siasia who was formerly head coach of the super eagles between December 2010 - October 2011 got his contract terminated due to his inability to qualify the team for the 2012 African nations cup.

Similarly, Amuneke was the hero in the just concluded Fifa U-17 world cup held in Chile 2015 where the golden Eaglets of Nigeria against all odds defeated all her opponents to emerge champions of the competition.

Meanwhile, chairman of the NFF technical and development committee Chris Green  told thenff.com that  the encounter against the pharoah of Egypt won't be a bean cake and as such the present crew has been given the mandate to reach out to the best Nigeria players anywhere possible to ensuring that we achieve a win in the game.

Coach sunday oliseh was signed into the Nigeria national team as head coach in july 2015 and has in recent times been at loggerheads with her employer over issues bordering on team welfare, packages and social security as the case may seems.

He was regarded as the Pep Guardiola of Africa by his employer as the future of Nigeria football was believed to have been given a brightened light with an oliseh in the pack at the helms of affairs.
