Ese Oruru released finally
Ese Oruru the kidnapped teenager from Bayelsa has been released by her captors following the swift intervention of concerned Nigerians who just won't fold their arms and allow poor Ese roast In the arms of not just a total stranger, but also a paedophilia.
Ese was kidnapped from her home state (Bayelsa) south south Nigeria on the 12th August 2015 by one Yinusa who happens to be not just a tricycle rider, but also a long standing customer to the abducted girl's mum who is a food vendor at Opolo, Yenagoa local government area of Bayelsa state .
Yinusa who on this day abducted young Ese while the mother was away from shop, took her immediately to kano state where he claim he would proceeds with her marital rites and onward conversion to Islam.
On returning, Ese's mum Mrs Rose Oruru got the shocker of her lifetime when she was told by one Dan that her daughter whom she left together with her little siblings has been taken to kano for marriage and onward conversion.
Subsequently, an anguish mother set out on an all important journey accompanied by one Rabiu who obviously knows where the crazy Yinusa might be keeping young Ese age 13.
Well, the sojourn to the ancient city of kano wasn't that friendly with the much needed help as all efforts to recover lost Ese proved abortive both by the village chieves in Turfa, kura local government area of
kano state(where Ese was believed to be kept) and other stakeholders who claim the said Ese no longer belong to her family as she has been renamed Aisha during her conversion to Islam.
The situation soon turn from bad to worse as she was also informed that Ese has been taken to the Emir's palace under the directives of the police in kura station kano, where the chief of turfa was instructed to do same. Mrs Rose was however adviced to wait for the emir's return which was dated 17 August.
On the said date, a resilient Mrs rose together with the divisional crime officer, a police inspector from kwani police station and the chief of turfa village arrived the Emir palace as he sat in council.
The irony soon began when all was let into the palace except the
mother of the girl was asked to step aside. It soon became like a movie when she saw her daughter together with the said yanusi been conveyed into the palace with police escort in a black SUV jeep but there was little she could do to raise dust.
After the said meeting, the police in kwani transferred the case to the state criminal investigation department in kano where she was then referred back to Bayelsa to report the matter to the Bayelsa state police command.
Hmm! The dilemma of an helpless mother indeed!
Anyway, she returned to Bayelsa, lodged the matter at the Ekeki police station Yenegoa before the case was later transferred to the state CID Yenegoa. Though some arrest was made by the police after
due investigation as though the bigger picture remains finding Ese.
On the 2nd sept 2015, another mission was launched, but this time, it was a full delegation including Mr Charles Oruru(husband), Mrs rose Oruru, arrested Mr Dan (the accomplice) together with two policer officers from the state CID. Well, it was at that instant on arrival that the Emir informed all parties that he had since sent a letter of order since 26th August for the said Ese to be released and he was baffled the matter is yet to be resolved.
Hmm! The matter though went to rest for some time with various underground fireworks in place until recently when PUNCH NG rekindled the story once more to the public domain seeking for concerned citizens to come to the rescue of Ese.
The #Freeese became a vibrating trend as the twitter community went hay wire with the campaign seeking for Ese to be released. It soon got to the crescendo when concerned Nigerians including big heavy weight threw their strenght behind her immediate release.
Hmm! See case!
Well, from story to glory, from grass to grace, from zero to been hero and as jack metamorphosed into Daniels, the Ese case got the needed attention.
The general public not only gained full knowledge of the story, but it also attracted the listening ears of both those in government and concerned senior elites who swung into action given the popularity of the story and the negative social implications it poses to the society.
Though, Ese finally gained her freedom from the custody of her abductors after six months in forced captivity and marriage, but those who made life a living hell both for Ese and her parents obviously will be made to face the full wrath of the law according to their crimes and complicity.
Ese together with Yinusa has been flown to Abuja currently, under the custody of the Inspector general of police who will take full charge of the girl before she eventually reunites with her family. Yinusa on the otherhand hangs his fate on the balance as his case will be treated
when the yellow lights vanishes.
Well, there are two many Ese's around who obviously may have gone through this same ordeal and the matter was swept under the carpet. No doubt, our laws need to be strengthened for more strident measures to be melted on offenders of this kind of henious crime against the state.
