APC wins Yobe NASS Bye- election

The Yobe state electoral commission has announced the winner of the keenly contested National Assembly bye-election which was held yon Saturday in Damaturu. The election which was as a result of Hon. Kadija Bukar Ibrahim's appointment into the Buhari's cabinet as minister of state for foreign affairs seemingly made the seat vacant.

Declaring the result, the returning officer Prof. Sunday Alao announced the candidate of the All Progressive congress(APC) to have won  the election having scored a valid number of votes counts of 23,745 while the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party Mr. Nasiru Hassan Yusuf secured a total votes counts of 6990. Other Party's who contested the elections includes the Advance Congress for Democracy (ACD) whose candidates Mr. Adamu Mohammed secures a total votes counts of 163 while that of the National Conscience Party  (NCP) Mr Jibrin Ladan garnered a vote counts of 139.

With the Emergence of the candidates of the APC, the winner Mr Abdullahi Usman Kukuwa now fills the vacated seat of Mrs Kadija Bukar Ibrahim who is now part of the presidents henchmen.
Similarly, the Yobe state commissioner of police Mrs Zinab Ibrahim described the process as peaceful devoid violence and political rancor while commending INEC  for a hitch free election.

All four political agents who signed the the results also commended the conducts of the election as they congratulates the candidates of the APC for his win.

Hon. kadija before her appointment was a federal law maker representing Damaturu, Gujba, Gulani, Tarmuwa federal constituency.
