EFCC clears justice danladi of the CCT
Trial judge of the code of conduct tribunal justice Umar danladi has been cleared by the economic and financial crimes commission (EFCC). Justice danladi who is been investigated by EFCC over an alleged bribery and inducement charges of a sum amounting to N10m has been given a green light of pass by the anti-graft agency.
According to the anti-graft agency, haven investigated the case for a while, it was noticed that the allegation was based on mere speculation and presumption while noting that there was no enough substantiation to indict him.
Justice danladi whose case clearance was communicated to him via a letter through the commission secretary Mr. Emmanuel Adegboyega Aremo exonerated Mr. Umar of any wrong doing as was widely speculated.
Mr Umar was alleged to have collected a bribe sum of N10m from one rasheed owolabi (a retired custom officer) during a court proceedings. Mr. Umar who opined that his decision to meet with the said suspect was based on a recommendation by a retired supreme court justice.
Similarly, in a related development, the senate committee on ethics and privileges has also drop his summoning call to justice danladi to appear before the ethics and privileges panel schedule for tomorrow. The senate call for justice danladi to appear before her ethics and privileges committee was greeted by many Nigeria as not only ill conceived but also a calculated attempt to intimidate and subvert justice as per the hearing and trial of senator bukola saraki of the Nigeria senate.
