US govt pledges technical assistant to insurgency in Nigeria

Following her security exigency in the northern part of Nigeria, the United States government has pledge her support in helping the government of Nigeria towards the provision of a strategic technical assistance in the fight against insurgency that is currently bedevilling her nation.

 According to the US deputy chief of mission, Mr. Alan Tousignant, the assistance which will come in form of technical support will help the Nigeria government develop a civilian security plan and enhance emergency response. Mr. Alan who met with the Nigeria interior minister in Abuja Monday, explained that the support was part of the US government initiative on security governance.

Similarly, in response to the deputy chief statement, Lieutenant General Abdulraham Dambazzu hinted that the support which will be a partnership affair between both country will not include the provision of military equipment while noting the development as that which is welcomed by the government of Nigeria.

It will be recall that the Nigerian government in recent time have intensify her onslaught in counter terrorism most especially in the fight against the boko haram dreaded sect group.
