majority leader of Nigeria MP submits self to police

Following the seemingly bizarre yet controversial happenings that is currently bedevilling the Nigeria house of parliament over issues of corrupt allegations cum budget padding, a member of parliament who doubles as the leader of the house, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has voluntarily submits self to the police for onward investigations. Hon. Gbajabiamila who recently just returned from the United States after three weeks of vacation said this move became very necessary owing to the fact that some persons in different quarters have been linking his name to the current allegations of making senseless insertions to the nation's budget with the sole intent to satisfy personal avarice.

The majority leader who said he consulted duly before arriving at this decision, also noted that he had earlier called an emergency meeting on arrival from the states. This meeting included the speaker of house, Deputy speaker alongside several principal officers as they deliberated swiftly on matters arising. According to Hon. Gbajabiamila, at the meeting, after careful deliberations and permutations, both speaker yakubu dogar and his deputy denied any wrong doing. This also goes same for Hon. Leo Ogor and that of Hon. Ado Dogwa, who proved their innocence in the whole of all this corruption allegations cum budget padding.

it will be recall that the leadership of the house recently relieved Hon. Jibrin Abddulmumin from his position as chairman head committee of Appropriation and budget allocations  on the allegation of certain financial impropriety and abuse of office. Hon. Jibrin who however claimed no wrong doing, have been talking tough, revealing juicy informations and providing valid documents that not only explains his case,but also reveals the names of the possible culprits.

It is to this end, that Hon. Gbajabiamila sought the services of the police in investigating him voluntarily, as he claims to be among the process that ousted Hon. Jibrin from his position.

" somehow, my name has been sullied in all of these fake documents/publications that have been put out there in traditional and social media" he said.

"However I gave a caveat before the press release was signed. I made clear to my colleagues in the leadership that because the decision to relieve Hon. Jibrin was a collective one of which I was part of, I will be submitting myself  on my own violation to the police for investigation".
