Reconstruction to begin in Italy

Following the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that befell the mountainous north eastern part of Rome, killing over 300 persons while displacing several thousands, the Italian authorities, though counting still their loss, are beginning to consider the possible accommodation of all those who now stay homeless as a result of the deadly quake.  The authority plans to build simple, wooden-chalet -style huts within the space of three months for over 200 displaced by the August 24 deadly earthquake.

Amatrice rescuers, 26 Aug 16The authorities faces the challenge of getting survivors into safe, warm accommodation before the winter, which remain very prone to cold most especially in quake hit region of the Apennine mountains.According to the Italian media, structure used in Onna after the devastating 2009 earthquake - are favored over tents such as those which is currently been used. However, despite the tented camps in place, survivors still find it more comforting in sleeping inside their various cars near their destroyed homes, for fear of theft and hoodlums who could cart away valuables amid rubble.  

The Italian Corriere della Sera newspaper reports (in Italian) hinted that the wooden huts will be erected close to the people damaged homes, since most of them have define their safety as that been closer home. The Italian prime minister Matteo Renzi discussed reconstruction/rebuilding plan, Sunday with Renzo Piano, one of Italy's most creative architect in seeking a quick end to this disturbing issue.

According to the Amatrice mayor whose town suffered a major hit, when the weather gets more coller, people will be given extra hotel room by the sea as a temporary hub before they finally move into the huts or chalet as prescribe- Amatrice mayor sergio pirozzi said.
