Battle for the top four

The battle for the top four has remained a contest between kings and kings as all teams involved continues to race hurriedly but strategically into a place of safe heavens. The fierce contest which has become a treat of no retreat no surrender has seen the top three teams involved fights for every game even if it may cost a major drop of their blood. No doubt, mother nature might as well play a determinant in who eventually goes to Europe next season, but they sure had to put in their best if grace may abide on one of the three contenders for a top four position.

From the Etihad to the Old traford arena down to the Emirates, the decision of who goes to Europe next season still remains a challenge not even football sorcerers could fathom as all three teams continues to stumble, fumble and wobble with results from their respective games. Though, some have managed to produced outstanding quality, but yet none have been able to stick on to consistency in terms of wins.

While Manchester United continued to enjoy some level of clean sheets recently, it has added little or no ripple effect to their climb to the climax position where one can boost of been safe from the rest. The odds have been between the sight of a consistent draw and that of a rare wins which has place them in the fifth log of the premiere league table with 64 points. From Zlatan Ibrahimovich to Wayne Rooney, united fans remains on their edge as they watched Jose Morinho perform the talismanic magic needed to outsmarting their co-rivals.

For their immediate London rival, it has been one shock defeat or the other as they continue to wither the storm with unflinching resilience even when it seems over sometimes. For Pep, his continued show of confidence and strategic formation has earned him some level of safety even though the battle to the finish line remains the position of the strong, fit and consistent.

The story which continues for the Gunners might really not be same as the aforementioned two, as their case here remains that of history. The gunners who have long since lost their winning mentality and scoring shoes took soccer pundits for a ride when they remarkably displayed class and style during their Sunday FA semi-final victory with game favorites Man-City. Though, they have rarely performed well in their league games, but Sunday's win and their hard earned victory against Leicester city had given yet another dimension to the team's readiness to claim their most revered fourth place position in recent years now. Wenger's men looks perfect enough for the rest of the remaining matches as they fight gallantly alongside the two Manchester's for the coveted fourth place which guarantees a Europe flight ticket come next season.

Permit me to skip the gallant efforts of the lone men from Anfied who by and large though are not guaranteed their current position as third loggers going by the recent shock of defeat witness in recent games, but as fate would have it, they are secured Europeans next season.  Their continued show of strength has earned them a secure top four position which not even Lucifer could upturn at the end of the season.

As for Antonio Conte's Chelsea, the battle-line seems drawn between Mauricio Pochettino who may as well fight very hard to overcome the impossible. Though, in football, impossibility is nothing as we have seen  rare scenario where comebacks and football mysteries rewrote the record books.

The moment is here, the bad blood is clear and decision must be made at the field of play if men must be separated from boys as though they were never men. Only time, tides and space can determine who eventually becomes a MAN , and who among the rest secures the coveted top four spot for a European challenge come next season.
