Recovery process for the Chibok girls

It is no more news that the Nigerian Government is pushing her limits beyond the far-reaching imaginations of millions of Nigerians most especially those in the diaspora as they watch with folded arms in a keen contest. The Government who have been largely criticized for playing the "Soft Handle" in tackling the immediate return of the kidnapped schoolgirls, has also been whipped by the opposition for playing too much galleria moments with the hearts and temperament of Nigerians whose campaign for the safe return of the Chibok schoolgirls, dates as far back as April 14,2014 when these girls were whisked away from their respective dormitory, as they prepare hard for their senior school leaving certificate examinations.

In fact, that was the moments when so many Nigerians rose up to the occasion as they staged series of protest and civil right march, in demand for the rescue of over 219 schoolgirls, who they claim were victims of the ill-handling of security intelligence/challenges in a nation comprising over 140 million persons. The international community wasn't left out in this campaign as both top notch celebrities, highly placed political leaders and captain of industries around the globe, called out the Nigerian government to show absolute responsibility in the rescue operation of these girls from the treachery hands of the deadly Boko Haram sect group.

From first lady Michelle Obama down to talk show host Oprah Winfrey, From Barrack Obama at the west wing down to David Cameron occupying the number 10, the voice became one in ascendance, as the world spoke just four lettered words-BringBackOurGirls.

The narrative of the rescue campaign went through the clueless administration of the then Government led by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, in whose watch the girls were kidnapped. The sermon of unending committees and needless kidnapped investigation finally culminated the end of that administration which so many perceived was fraught with fraud. The characterization of this administration spoke more with the crass looting of public funds orchestrated by unrepentant political kleptomaniacs whose love for money outweighs national objectives.

According to intellegience reports, it was argued that the kidnapped of this girls could have been avoided only if the clueless government had acted fast on a quick security tip from the west, most especially that coming from the United States. Sad indeed, nothing was done. Hmm! what do one expect from cuelessness?

Well, the resultant effect of their irresponsibility gave way for a historic defeat at the 2015 presidential polls, which ushered in a new administration anchored on change, with the promise to rescuing these girls safe and sound as a priority. Haven showed a high degree of focus and honesty in the rescue operation, the hope of so many pained Nigerians became rekindled.

Though it hasn't been all rosy, but then, the end they say justifies the means. The recovery process of the chibok schoolgirls soon started with the new government.

From hope rekindled to hope alive, the light at the tail end of the tunnel became glaringly enough when suddenly, one of the kidnapped girls (Amina Ali) was found by the Nigerian Civilian JTF (An affiliate security group set up to compliment the effort of the Nigerian army) wandering her way through the thick walls and dreadful path of forest sambisa on the 7th, May 2016. This no doubt staged a miraculous comeback of all dashed hope by sceptics, who have zeroed their mind about the return of the girls.

From pressure to the cooker, campaigners for the safe rescue of the Chibok schoolgirls, rose to greater tenacity as they continued their demand for the return of the kidnapped schoolgirls who many now believe are still alive, given the shock appearance of one of the girls, coupled with series of video footage's released by their captors.

The Military rose more to their toes as all efforts became doubled in this ultimate search of no retreat no surrender. With several blitz Kreig operation and tactical formation, the advancement of assault finally yielded positive fruits when on Oct 21, 2016, news of 21 released chibok schoolgirls, broke the internet as millions over the world celebrated this great feat of words matched with action.

The applause got the much-needed nod as deserved, but then, the question remains thus; When will the remaining 197 get rescued? Indeed! Oliver asks for more.

With each passing day, the Muhammadu Buhari led administration kept the vigil lamp as conveners advocating for the safe return of the remaining schoolgirls kept the lamp constantly oiled. Just like an epic thriller, the beginning of the new year started very well on the right footing, witnessing yet another sudden appearance of a second lone girl (Rikiya Abubakar)identified as part of the kidnapped chibok schoolgirls, found 5th, Jan 2017. This no doubt just like the previous, ignited the immediate call for more effort on the part of the Nigerian government, in the rescue of these girls, who has approximately spent over 2 years in the hands of their abductors.

"We feel your pain" became the pacifier as the government continued to assure those involve in advocating for the rescue of this girls. From pillar to post, none will take any of this political sermon as the pressure continued to pile.  BringBackOurGirls became more vociferous.

The three years memorial commemorating the girls still in captivity was nostalgic as the moments couldn't be more describe as bitter-sweet. Adorable was the perfect adjective seeing some of the released girls during the commemoration, but then, disheartening could as well pass for the right words considering those parents who are yet to see their loved ones during the April 14, three years mark.

Just like the aphorism, "All is well when it ends well", there was no doubt saying the tunnel will soon produce more lights, but the question remains thus; When? Where and How?

In view of the aforementioned metaphysics, all eyes became fixated on the Nigerian Government, alongside her security intelligence team. While pressure kept mounting, social commentators kept the discussion on a high note as the media played their perspectives in checking for constant updates.

"We are on top of the matter" declared the government. "These girls are just like our kids and we feel the pain of everybody who has indeed kept the struggle alive".

The above statement became a musical note rehearsal coming from the Nigerian Government, as the majority of her top official became an overnight lyricist in pacifying the situation at hand. One moment, they seem to be closing in on the rescue operation, the next minutes, the lead has failed. A ding dong affair became the other of the day as no one could categorically explain the political gambling hovering around the supposed rescue operation of the missing girls.

It's well over three years now, as the behind the scene negotiations between men of the dreaded boko haram sect group and that of the Nigerian govt has failed to yield any positive result. While one side is accused of insincerity, the other is blamed for playing the smart game. Be that as it may, one thing is certain, and that is "The long wait unrelenting of the girl's rescue advocates remained resolute".

The news which broke first like a false flag soon surfaced the internet as it filtered around the sudden release of over 82 of the missing chibok schoolgirls. "Just heard the news of the release of our girls and I hope it's so true" tweeted Oby Ezekwesili, one of the staunch advocate front lining the BringBackOurGirlsCampaign. This no doubt was the biggest release so far since negotiation started shortly after 21 of the girls was rescued some eight months back.

From CNN to Al jezeera down to the BBC, the 7th, May, 2017 feat achieved by the Nigerian government became no doubt one of her giant strides since her leadership started on May 29, 2015. No doubt, it was one applause the Muhammadu Buhari led government embraced with two arms despite the inherent crisis bedevilling the state of the economy.

Though, skeptics challenged the rescue mission, but all in one, majority appaluded the honesty displayed by the government who despite the odds, make bold their statement of promise.

Again, like the story of Oliver, the feat is well applauded, the honesty has been seen by onlookers, yet one thing cannot be overtly ruled out, and that remains thus; "When are we seeing the remaining 113 schoolgirls still under the mesphistophilic claws of the Islamic fundamentalist sect group?.

The story continues thus far, but before we begin our ambivalent protest skills once again, one thing is so deserved and thst is -'WELLDONE MR. PRESIDENT". This is no doubt, words matched with action. But yet again Sir, our girls are yet to be fully rescued.
