The Russian Embassy in Damascus was shelled for 2 hours on Wednesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said. In a statement issued on Thursday, the Ministry noted that the attack was launched from Jobar neighborhood, east to Damascus, that is controlled by extremist terrorists. Five mortar shells landed near the embassy, four of which exploded, meanwhile another mortar fell on the roof of a school located near the embassy, but did not explode. At least 22 people died in the collapse of a group of decrepit homes on the outskirts of Wenzhou, in eastern China. Six people survived and are in stable condition.  Rescuers have recovered a three-year-old girl who survived under the remains of collapsed homes in China. According to the State broadcaster CCTV, firefighters found the girl and her dead parents under the rubble after 15 hours of rescue work. The report said the child had only minor injuries and avoided being struck by heavy objects. Her parents died after being hit by a piece of cement floor — they were found with their arms around their daughter. The man, aged in his 30s, was discovered on Lurline Street around 6:30pm (AEDT). Emergency services were called and he was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police believe the man was dumped from a car after being shot in his lower leg at another location. No arrests have been made and police are appealing for witnesses.
