For Sheriff, the sky is just a stepping stone for the PDP who now find self as the opposition party after so many years of her dominance in the political space. The Dilemma of anti-corruption Crusaders- Dele Momodu

PENDULUM “ So when they continued asking Him, He stood up and said to them, ‘The one without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her .”              – King James Bible, John 8: 7 Fellow Nigerians, anyone familiar with the Holy Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ of Nazareth would have come across one of his most famous quotes above. Jesus was not trying to promote, defend and encourage prostitution or fornication but he tried to show that none of mankind is without blemish. I’m yet to find any other quote more poignant than this. It sums up the hypocrisy of man and why we should be careful about judging others so violently without removing the speck in our own eyes. I love reading those verses in the Bible for saying it as it is. Everywhere you turn in Nigeria today, the hottest topic is corruption. Even lawyers who should know better are saying the magnitude of corruption in our nation makes it imperative to employ extra-judicial means to try and convict all

Wenger hopful of today's UCL encounter with Barcelona

It may have been five years ago, but the gunners boss hopes that result can have an effect on his current crop ahead of Tuesday night’s encounter. Of course, we have been here before. Back at the same stage in 2011, the Gunners defied expectations to claim an unforgettable first leg win at the Emirates thanks to late goals from Robin van Persie and Andrey Arshavin. The decision to win today's encounter will rest solely on the focus and style of the players as nothing can stop the gunners to claiming their victory at home soil.  “We are excited about playing it, but on the other hand, you want to win it. That creates worry and you want to think about what is the best way to beat them. I think we have a chance to achieve that. “Of course they are the best team in Europe at the moment, because they are the holders of the trophy, and they are top of their league by a big margin. That means the task is difficult but as well very exciting. “I expect an open game, because they a

EFCC quizzes former minister of interior over immigration stampede recruitment

The chicken may have finally come to roast at the end of day as the former minister of interior affair Mr Abba Moro turns special guest to the Economic and financial crimes commission EFCC. It would be recalled that the Nigerian Immigration service under his watch in 2014 organised a mass recruitment exercise around the nation which unfortunately turned sour at the end of the day. The recruitment  wasn not only an exercise in futility for the over 600,000 vibrant graduates who entered for that scheme, but also led to death of over 20 young graduates who obviously because of the uncontrollable stampede gave up the ghost at an instant. The incidents which was later brought at the committee level as set up by former president goodluck jonathan really didn't produce any meaningful results as the eventual reports never saw the light of day. However, Abba Moro who has been at peace with self ever since the distasteful incident got a coastal ride during the previous administratio

As the rift between the newly appointed chairman of the people's democratic party PDP Sen. Ali-Modu Sheriff and former aviation minister Mr Femi Fani Kayode gets to a crescendo, the war of words seems to know no bounds as both parties continue to trade words at each other. For the former aviation minister, the newly appointed chairman of his party  in all its ramifications remains one wrong choice capable of causing disaster in the nearest tomorrow. FFK has not only criticised his emergence as the party Front-line head but has seemingly made certain allegations which according to him can't be denied on the part of the newly appointed chairman . The former aviation minister who questioned the character And personality of Sen. Modu Sheriff indicates that such an individual should not be given any serious position needless to say that of been the face of any responsible party. Fani kayode who alleged some kind romantic ties between the current chairman and that of the dread

African leaders and power

The African mindset in terms of leadership and governance seems to be in absolute contraction when compared to global best practices as seen in other climes of civilised democracy. Written: Dickson Eyinmosan Leadership to them is perceived as not only an avenue for them loot the the nation's treasury, but also a tool for intimidation and gross abuse of office to the detriment of the electorate. The African view remains one archaic concept relevant to only those an irrational world. They clung to power as if they were made for the position as nobody else seems to matter once elected. Their approach to policy and implementation is only right when it appeals to their whims and caprices as ideas from outside the chains of circle  are considered either irrelevant or counter productive. Truth be told, African leaders have lost focus in governance as majority now resort to dictatorial ruler ship which obviously contravenes the laws of a modern state. Some stay 10, 15, 20, 30, 4

Nigeria and its ailing economy

No doubt, with the economy needing a revitalisation and the current  dwindling state of oil prices in the country, it has become unavoidably imperative  for more strident steps to be taken in other to curb this very menacing state capable of crumbling the growth of any nation. Written : Dickson Eyinmosan Most ailing economy in the world that has survived this kind of startling economy embarrassment didn't just folds their arms to relying on some sort of mother luck to do the magic. The turning point for them wasn't because they noticed such economic hiccups and did nothing, but because they noticed it and worked harder to averting such impending disaster. Secondly, what has seemingly worked for any nation who obviously got knocked down but gallantly survived economic hardship, is the ability of both her leaders and the led in keeping  home grown industries alive by patronising her locally made product which in turn boast economic growth as more money will be injected int

Following his win back to the senate house at the just concluded benue south senetorial re-run elections, major opposition candidate Mr Daniel Onjeh of the All Progressive Congress APC has indicated his interest to seek the help of tribunal in what he has described  as a "Flawed Process". Mr Onjeh has challenged the Feb. 20th 2016 re-run of the benue south senetorial poll contest that eventually saw Sen. Is Don Jazzy rude

Yesterday witness the collections of the cream de la creed of the society all in one events as the chairman of silverbird group, owner of rhythm fm, silverbird cinemas, silverbird mall and silverbird entertainment Sen. Ben Murray Bruce turns 60. Benue south senetorial rerun: David Mark knows fate

The good people of benue state stands to make today decision day for both senator David mark of the people's democratic party PDP and Mr Daniel Onjeh of the All Progressive Congress Party APC. Written: Dickson Eyinmosan Mark whose April 2015 electoral victory was annuled by a court of competent jurisdiction will go healong into yet another test of strenght in a keenly contested battle with another strong opposition as they both vie for the position of who respresent the good people of benue south senatorial district. Popularity and mission statement might just be the decider of today's challenge across the nine local government of benue south senatorial district amidst speculations of who the possible winner should be. The Olajumoke's compelling story: Reality meets Fiction

While some may argue on the veracity of an overnight silver spoon, others might indicate an indifferent opinion while some more might just resign their conclusion to fate and destiny. Written: Dickson Eyinmosan Be that as it may, believe it or not, call it an "arangee" or give a different dimension, one thing is clear and very certain and that remains the proverbial saying which goes " in anything thou hand fineth, do it well with pride and dignity.
