Nigeria MPs react to the recent herdsmen attacks in Enugu state

Following the unholy incidents that happened yesterday in Enugu state south-east of Nigeria, more reactions has continued to trail in regarding the deaths and wanton loss of human lives that greeted the incident. While some are calling on the federal government of Nigeria to rise up to the occasion, others are calling for the immediate ban of herdsmen activities in the country.  In a swift reaction to the dreadful attacks on law abiding citizens in Enugu state, the leadership of the National Assembly has expressed dissatisfaction and deep concern over the tragic incident that left over 50persons dead with so many injured. Residents of Zaria reveals the unholy activities of Shiites group

Following the clash between the shiites group of Nigeria and the Nigeria Army, a judicial panel of inquiry has been set up to look into both the root and remote causes of the said incident which happened in Zaria sometime in December 2015. Ex kogi lawmaker sentenced to 154years imprisonment

A federal high court sitting in Lokoja the Kogi state capital has made her ruling on the case of fraudulent malpractices and misappropriation of public funds against an ex kogi lawmaker. The court who however found Mr Gabriel Dauda Guilty of all 77 counts charge against him sentenced the ex lawmaker to 154 years in prison having been found guilty of all charges levied him. The Nigeria Medical Association Mourns officers, as the NOC releases names of the deceased

The Nigeria Medical Association yesterday lost seven of her members to the cold hands of death as they embarked on a road trip in a bid to attending the 56th Annual Conference and General Delegates Meetings of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, in Sokoto northern part of Nigeria. Egypt unrest- Al-sisi warns anti- government protest group

Egyptian president Abdul fattah al-Sisi has sounded a note of warning to all those he described as evil forces wanting to bring the country back to her damaged days. Burundi Army General shot dead

A security advisor to the Burundian vice president has been shot dead at the capital Bujumbura. Gen. Athanesa Kuraruza was shot alongside wife when they were about dropping off their daughter in school. Burundi has been in a worst political turmoil ever since incumbent president Pierre Nkurunziza initiated his third term bid sometime in April 2015. Fresh fears as Customs boss demands reviews of credentials and letter of Employments among senior officers

The Nigeria Customs Service seems to be engulf in fresh worries as the Comptoller General of Nigeria Customs Mr Hameed Ali sought to embark on a total review of all those whose promotions weren't  merit based. According to the CG of customs the move became imminent as the commission begins some internal  reformation among self. PDP won all 18 seats as ondo elects new chairmen

The Peoples Democratic Party in ondo state has swept the all 18 councils polls that was conducted on Saturday by the independent electoral commission.  The elections which saw over 15 candidates from various political platforms contesting the elections however was concluded with the PDP  claiming a landslide of virtually all the available seats. Announcing the results of the polls in Akure, the chairman of the ondo state independent electoral commission (ODIEC) Prof. Olugbenga Ige announced the PDP winning all 18 chairmanship seats while out of the 203 councillorship seats, the PDP won 202 while the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) won the remaining one. The Yobe state electoral commission has announced the winner of the keenly contested National Assembly bye-election which was held yon Saturday in Damaturu. The election which was as a result of Hon. Venezuela attempts to cut power supply for four hours daily

Osun is in a perfect cordial relationship with workers- State NLC chairman affirms

Contrary to claims and speculation,  the Osun state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC through her chairman Mr Jacob Adekomi has reiterated that the state government is living up to her expectations when it comes to payment of workers salaries. EFCC clears justice danladi of the CCT

Trial judge of the code of conduct tribunal justice Umar danladi has been cleared by the economic and financial crimes commission (EFCC). Justice danladi who is been investigated by EFCC over an alleged bribery and inducement charges of a sum amounting to N10m has been given a green light of pass by the anti-graft agency. According to the anti-graft agency, haven investigated the case for a while, it was noticed that the allegation was based on mere speculation and presumption while noting that there was no enough substantiation to indict him. Ondo state prepares for LGA polls

The ondo state independent electoral commission (ODIEC) will on Saturday April 23, 2016 conduct  the states local government election into the various 18 local  council areas. The election which will see over 5000 ad-hoc staff of the commission in participation will also witness a large amount of security turn ups in ensuring a free, fair and credible system during and after the exercise. Embattled senate president Bukola Saraki has reiterated his fears over the continues stay of justice Umar Danladi as chairman of the code of conduct tribunal presiding over his case of an alleged false declaration of assets by the senate president. Saraki who hinted his worries in a motion of notice filed against Mr Umar, the senate president states that the chairman should disqualify self from participating in the on-going trial case as it was for the best of all parties involved. The motion which was raised in connection with section 36(1) of the Nigerian constitution clearly states thus " in determination of his civil rights and obligations, including any question or determination by or against any government authority, a person shall be entitled to fair hearing within a reasonable time by a court or other tribunal established by law or constituted in such a manner as it's independence or impartiality".
